Prove sum of arithmetic series
WebbThe question says prove that the sum of the first 2n multiples of 4 is 4n (2n+1). So the sequence goes.. 4, 8, 12, 16...2n right? Where a=4,d=4 If I do it using the n/2[2a+ (n-1)d] method I get the correct answer but if I use the n/2 (a+L) formula I don't get the correct answer.. 2n/2 (4+2n) n (4+2n) 4n+2n^2 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
