Women are more likely to be assaulted by a current or former intimate partner than an acquaintance, family member, friend, or stranger. WebBased on the prevalence and health burden of IPV among women, education about IPV; screening at periodic intervals, including during obstetric visits; and ongoing clinical care can improve the lives of women who experience IPV.
