WebAug 22, 2006 · As far as staking goes, you'd take a cold chisel to the block and try to fold the cast iron over the top of the installed plug. Obviously you can't get carried away, and it only takes a little bit to do the trick. However, you get back to the problem of removing the plug in the future, so I wouldn't recommend it. I go back and forth on whether it is completely necessary, if you use loc-tite and go back and lock at least one edge, its going to hold. Using screwing plugs does give me a ... That port on the front, lower corner on that side of the block is an ideal place to put an OP sender because it usually isn't in the way of other things. Just install it AFTER you put the engine in.
